What is Digital Mammography?

Digital Mammography is a low-dose X-ray examination designed specifically for evaluating breast tissue. It is currently the most effective method for detecting early-stage breast abnormalities and breast cancer.

Digital technology allows radiologists to adjust the brightness and contrast of images on a computer screen, providing a clearer view of minute calcifications or masses.

Preparation & Tips

  • Do not use deodorants, antiperspirants, powders, lotions, or perfumes under your arms or on your breasts (they may appear as spots on the X-ray).
  • We recommend wearing a two-piece outfit (like a top and skirt or trousers) on the day of the exam for convenience.
  • The best time for the examination is 7 to 10 days after your period ends, when your breasts are less tender.

Key Features

  • • High-definition digital imaging
  • • Improved early cancer detection rate
  • • Reduced need for repeat examinations
